15th Annual Ontario Medical School Symposium

Update 2: The venue for the social happening right after OMSS has been decided – we’re going to the Duke of York pub just a block away. Stick around after the event and we’ll head there together, but in case you’re wondering where it is, here is a link to Google Maps.

Update 1: As usual, we will be supplying the HBSU Canadian Medical Schools Guidebook, updated every year by your very own HBSU execs. Fourteen Canadian medical schools, their various cutoffs and requirements, costs, and other information in one convenient booklet… last year many people came to OMSS just for this booklet. But we do encourage you to stay for the full event ;-)

That’s right, the time is right for HBSU’s biggest event of the year – the Ontario Medical School Symposium (OMSS). One look at our poster and you want to go, am I right or am I right?

15th Annual Ontario Medical School Symposium
Thursday, March 15th
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
OISE Auditorium

Admissions officers from major medical schools in Ontario will be presenting, plus a Q&A panel of current medical students from U of T, McMaster, Queen’s, Western, and Ottawa to give you inside information that you can’t get from the schools’ websites. This year, the medical student panel is comprised of students who did their undergraduate studies at U of T. Learn about the application process, each school’s strengths and weaknesses, interview tips, and more from those who have once been in your shoes and made it.

Also, The Princeton Review will be raffling off many prizes, including a free MCAT course – almost a $2000 value! And as per HBSU usual, there will be free pizza.

We will also be hosting a social directly after OMSS (location still in the works but will be conveniently close by)! Stick around to meet the speakers, students, and the HBSU executives while enjoying free appetizers.

  1. Sorry, no recordings. Why don’t you just ask a friend to go in your stead? Take some notes… or even picking up the booklet we usually supply will be more than useful.

    1. Sure! OISE is the big grey-ish looking concrete building located between the two entrances to St. George subway station (north side of Bloor street). Google Map link.

I don’t remember the precise location of the auditorium once you’re inside the building, but you can easily ask someone =).

  2. I wasn’t able to attend this year and was hoping you still had some copies of the booklet around. Is it possible to still get a copy please?
